18F Introduces HTTPS Guide Video Series

websiteThe General Services Administration’s 18F has released a video series that details how the HTTPS (secure hypertext transfer protocol) communication protocol works.

18F said Thursday it collaborated with DigitalGov University to produce the videos as part of the U.S. government’s effort to transition to HTTPS.

The series explains how the protocol protects users, how to transition a website and how HTTPS is set up.

18F also discusses various reasons for adopting the communication protocol.

The presentation also examines current and future technical and political developments that concern HTTPS and certifications.

The Government Accountability Office has found that the U.S. Air Force intends to start fielding in fiscal 2020 new Combat Rescue Helicopters to replace aging HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters that have recorded the most flight time when it comes to staff recovery missions. GAO said in a report published Thursday the service will initially deploy the new helicopters to the active component six years ahead of the reserve component and to the Air National Guard by 2027.
