Kara DeFrias: 18F, Treasury Collaborate on $10 Bill Redesign

digital governmentThe General Services Administration‘s 18F organization will work with the Treasury Department to redesign and roll out a new $10 bill.

Kara DeFrias, deputy director of 18F Consulting, wrote in a blog post published Friday that the organization is collaborating with the Treasury team to feature a woman on the bill, secure the paper currency and add a tactile feature.

18F consulted on content, visual design and social media strategy for The New 10 website, according to DeFrias.

The digital service also worked with the Treasury team to gain insight into the project history and take into consideration the website visitors.

“Since Treasury wanted to encourage the public to weigh in on who should appear on the $10 bill, and what democracy means to them…we also provided advice on methods and approaches to maximize the general public’s interaction with the campaign,” DeFrias wrote.
