Agriculture Dept Seeks Deputy CIO for Operations, Infrastructure

JobAdThe U.S. Agriculture Department has kicked off its search for a full-time deputy chief information officer for operations and infrastructure.

USDA said in a USAJobs notice that the position is designated as a Senior Executive Service, career-reserved position and requires a top secret-level security clearance and at least 25 percent business travel.

The recruitment period began Monday and will continue through Sept. 8.

A USDA deputy CIO for operations and infrastructure is responsible for the oversight of information technology programs, investments and funds across the department.

Other duties include the supervision of associate CIOs at the department-run National Information Technology Center, Client Technology Services and Directors of Enterprise Network Services, as well as management of USDA’s efforts to consolidate data centers and implement private and public cloud computing systems.
