Deloitte: Digital Tech Transforms Government Financial Mgmt

digital governmentDeloitte has released findings of its latest study that outline how digital technologies transform the government’s financial management strategy.

The Deloitte-NASACT 2015 survey shows that 30 percent of U.S. state and local financial government executives believe their agencies have a “clear and coherent digital strategy,” according to Deloitte.

The report indicated that digital trends impact revenue collection, auditing and cost management the most and that state financial management agencies have insufficient customer focus, open functionality and agile development – factors that Deloitte says are key elements of a digital mindset.

The Deloitte said the poll shows digitally mature organizations “understand how to use digital technologies to build an innovative workplace.”

The study also cited lack of digital workforce and regulations as key challenges to the government’s digital strategy.
