GSA: 82% of Federal Cloud Deployments FedRAMP-Compliant

cloudA new General Services Administration infographic shows 82 percent of more than 1,400 cloud deployments in the federal government comply with the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, FierceGovernmentIT reported Thursday.

GSA analyzed cloud service providers’ customer surveys and PortfolioStat data from agencies to create the initial baseline of cloud adoption across federal agencies, Molly Bernhart Walker writes.

There are now 38 FedRAMP-compliant CSPs, a 41 percent rise over the six-month period.

Reuse of FedRAMP security authorizations prevents federal agencies from $70 million in annual costs in relation to security evaluations for cloud service implementations, according to the report.
