Michael Poth Named FirstNet CEO, TJ Kennedy Appointed President

Michael PothMichael Poth, a 14-year public safety veteran and former police captain, has joined the First Responder Network Authority as chief executive.

He will be responsible for the oversight of FirstNet’s partnerships with industry to build, implement and run a national emergency services network, FirstNet said Monday.

Poth holds decades of business development, strategic planning and business operations experience and previously served in leadership roles at Hewlett-Packard and Northrop Grumman.

FirstNet also announced T.J. Kennedy, acting FirstNet executive director, will take a new role as the organization’s president.

Kennedy will hold responsibility over external communication, legislative affairs, public safety and state outreach activities in his new position.

He will also work with Poth to manage FirstNet’s solicitation process that is scheduled to start later this year.
