Walden said July 16 the award confirms the universityâs compliance with NSA and DHS standards for information assurance and cyber defense.
The designation is effective through academic year 2019.
“With this designation, Walden is nationally recognized as being committed to academic excellence in cyber security education, preparing students for challenging careers that meet the increasingly urgent needs of the U.S. government, industry and academia,â said Karlyn Barilovits, associate dean of Walden’s School of Information Systems and Technology.
Walden students will have the opportunity to avail of scholarships and grants through the Defense Department Information Assurance Scholarship Program and the Federal Cyber Service Scholarship for Service Program as part of the designation.
