Jason Miller writes Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) pulled the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act off the floor Wednesday because senators could not find common ground.
During the session, Sens. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) and Ben Cardin (D-Md.) offered two amendments to the bill, one of which seeks $37 billion in additional funds for the Office of Personnel Management‘s information technology modernization project, according to the radio station.
The other amendment would provide credit monitoring and identity theft protection services to federal employees affected by the OPM data breach, Miller said.
Federal News Radio quoted Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) as saying he plans to work with privacy advocates to block the passage of CISA when the chamber resumes session next month.
