The White House and General Services Administration’s 18F have formed a research alliance that will work to develop genomic-based medications, Government Technology reported Wednesday.
White House Chief Data Scientist D.J. Patil told TechCrunch’s startup conference that he will collaborate with 18F’s federal development team to implement White House’s Precision Medicine initiative, Jason Shueh reports.
Patil spoke with 18F spokesperson Phaedra Chrousos at the event on Wednesday, according to the report.
Chrousos added that 18F’s data scientists and engineers will work to speed up technology procurement in 2016, the report says.
