Senate OKs Federal Hiring Process Bill ; John Tester Comments

OfficeThe Senate has unanimously passed a bill to allow federal agencies use another agencies’ list of applicants who have been subjected to a screening process in order to assess and select new employees.

Sen. John Tester (D-Mont.) proposed the Competitive Service Act, Tester’s office said Thursday.

“I urge the House to quickly pass this bill so we can make sure federal agencies are using an efficient hiring process,” Tester said.

Organizations that supported the legislation include the Federal Managers Association, Partnership for Public Service, Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration, and the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association.
