Federal Chief Information Officer Tony Scott has highlighted what challenges agency leaders and private sector executives must address in order to accelerate their technology adoption efforts, Fedscoop reported Tuesday.
Scott told a discussion panel at ACT-IAC’s Executive Leadership Conference in Virginia that information technology and acquisition leaders must focus on leadership in efforts to consolidate technology at federal agencies, Wyatt Kash reports.
He also address the prospect of technology leaders near retirement from government or having plans to join another sector when a new president takes office in 2017, according to the report.
“Have we done everything we can do to develop the next generation of leaders?†Scott said, adding that the question applies to the whole IT ecosystem, Fedscoop reports.
