USAID said Sunday the project will be carried out as part of the Let Girls Learn program and that schools for girls will constitute up to 70 percent of the new facilities to be constructed.
Alfonso Lenhardt, acting administrator at USAID, said the agencyâs partnership with the government of Jordan to establish new schools aims to âempower thousands of young people through education.”
The educational buildings will be built in Jordanâs urban locations in an effort to address overcrowded classrooms and accommodate more than 25,000 children annually, including Syrian refugees, according to USAID.
