Defense Secretary Ashton Carter has said the Defense Department is in search of new approaches on how to speed up the campaign against the Islamic State militant group, DoD News reported Wednesday.

Jim Garamone writes Carter told uniformed personnel at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey that U.S. troops and international forces should “find capable, motivated partners” that can help launch attacks against the organization in Syria and Iraq.

“I’m looking to you, and I’ve told the American commanders this: If you have ideas for how to get there faster, we want to hear them,” the defense chief said.

Carter also called on other allied forces to help with the efforts to fight and defeat the Islamic State group, the report said.
