GSA’s 18F Offers Product Design Guide for Digital Professionals

websiteThe General Services Administration‘s 18F organization has created a reference guide to help other government agencies adopt lean principles for their digital tool or service development strategy.

Nick Brethauer and Colin MacArthur, user-experience designers at 18F, write in a blog article published Nov. 20 that GSA’s digital services team uses a lean approach to build software and track intended outcomes of a platform.

They said their interactive guide offers a template for digital professionals to plan and execute a project, distill assumptions into hypothesis, manage the product development process and apply an agile method to user research.

Brethauer and MacArthur also recommended that digital service teams to take a holistic view of their projects and encourage client product owner to participate in the design process.
