Army Col. Andrew McClelland Named DISA European Field Chief

Andrew McClelland ImageU.S. Army Col. Andrew McClelland, previously chief of the Brigade Modernization Command’s network integration division, has been named commander of the Defense Information Systems Agency‘s European field command.

DISA said Tuesday McClelland will succeed Col. Jacqueline Brown, who previously held the post for two years and transition into a new role at the Pentagon in support of the Army’s chief information officer.

A change of command ceremony took place July 8 in Stuttgart, Germany that was presided by DISA Director and Army Lt. Gen. Alan Lynn.

The Government Accountability Office has found that the U.S. Air Force intends to start fielding in fiscal 2020 new Combat Rescue Helicopters to replace aging HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters that have recorded the most flight time when it comes to staff recovery missions. GAO said in a report published Thursday the service will initially deploy the new helicopters to the active component six years ahead of the reserve component and to the Air National Guard by 2027.
