The Trump administration seeks to reform space industry regulations as part of the federal government’s 2017 National Security Strategy in a push to attract investments and encourage innovations in the private sector, Space News reported Monday.

The government wants to partner with companies to increase the resiliency of space architectures and drive human exploration missions.

President Donald Trump on Monday provided details of his national security strategy that covers military power, homeland defense, trade policy, border security and economic strength.

Vice President Mike Pence, chair of the National Space Council, will lead efforts to create and update policies as well as evaluate the country’s long-term space goals and strategies.

Scott Pace, executive secretary of the National Space Council, urged the U.S. government and private sector to utilize legal and diplomatic means to establish a stable space environment for commercial and government activities.
