DISA OKs Samsung Galaxy S9 for DoD Mobility Unclassified Capability

The Defense Information Systems Agency has approved use of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ under the Defense Department‘s enterprise service that provides unclassified access for commercial mobile services.

The mobile phone company updated the models’ firmware to be eligible for operation under the DoD Mobility Unclassified Capability, DISA said Monday in a tweet.

DMUC establishes commercial-based connectivity to provide mobile platforms with access to DoD enterprise services such as the Defense Enterprise Email.

Last week, DISA unveiled a program designed to help DoD partners enroll iOS devices into DMUC.
