Tim Sakulich Appointed to Lead Air Force Research Lab’s Materials, Manufacturing Directorate

Tim Sakulich, who led the Air Force Research Laboratory's materials and manufacturing directorate a decade ago, has returned to the organization as its director.

He spent 26 years on active duty before he took on civilian leadership positions at AFRL, the laboratory said Wednesday.

Prior to his current role, he was vice director at the 711th Human Performance Wing since June 2012 and also briefly served as director of AFRL's information directorate in an acting basis.

He now oversees a more than 900-employee organization that develops materials and methods needed to produce aircraft, ground-based platforms, spacecraft and weapons systems.
