1901 Group has been awarded a subcontract from Salient CRGT to support the U.S. Government Accountability Office’s (GAO) IT infrastructure and application systems environment, the company announced on Wednesday. The contract has an 8.5 month base period, four twelve-month option periods, and one 7.5 month option period.

"Through 1901 Group's enterprise managed services and cybersecurity capabilities, we will provide sophisticated technologies and business performance improvement to ultimately deliver timely and accurate information to Salient CRGT, GAO, Congress, and the American people," said Paul Wilkinson, , 1901 Group’s executive vice president of business development.

1901 Group is an experienced subcontractor and will bring advanced IT service delivery to its customers. Through the GAO subcontract, 1901 Group will provide remote managed services and network monitoring and management from its 24×7 FedRAMP authorized enterprise IT operations center.

In addition, the company will deploy GAO's next generation information technology service management (ITSM) platform to increase the use of automation and data analytics to improve performance. "We are proud to team with Salient CRGT in this critical journey to transform GAO's IT infrastructure, applications, and systems," added Wilkinson.

1901 Group has continued to exponentially grow its IT services and since its launch of the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center (VTCRC) Enterprise IT Operations Center (EITOC) expansion in Aug. 2019

"1901 Group worked with the VTCRC to design the facility to support our rapid growth in the public sector. The layout and configuration are specifically designed for customers seeking substantial performance gains via innovative services to help them assess, migrate, and optimize their mission-critical applications through cloud computing and IT delivered 'as a service'," said Wilkinson.

The VTCRC will be building 1901 Group's 45,000 square foot EITOC to provide a state-of-the-art Operations Center to support 1901 Group's continued growth of cloud, cybersecurity, and managed services business.

"1901 Group's new Enterprise IT Operations Center in Montgomery County adds to the region's economic momentum and booming technology sector," said VA Governor Ralph Northam. "The company's decision to expand its presence into rural Virginia speaks volumes about the area's low operating costs, quality of life, and skilled workforce that continue to attract forward-thinking IT companies. We thank 1901 Group for investing in Montgomery County, and look forward to the company's future success in the Commonwealth."

Following 1901 Group’s expansion, the company was awarded a subcontract by Science Application International Corp. (SAIC) to migrate the U.S. Army's IT infrastructure and enterprise application to a cloud environment for the Cloud Computing contract awarded to SAIC under the Army ITES-3S contract vehicle.

Under the contract, 1901 Group will provide expert level support with its cloud factory team to support the migration of enterprise applications to the cloud. The company’s support on this program is designed to provide cost-effective cloud services that leverages the Army's funding of a flexible, scalable and secured cloud infrastructure.

As a FedRAMP authorized Cloud Service Provider (CSP), 1901 Group has significant experience migrating mission critical applications from legacy environments to the cloud. "We focus on providing several distinct and unique capabilities to supplement Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and other Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings," said Wilkinson.

"We are excited to team with SAIC to help bring world-class services to support the Army in their digital transformation journey to a commercial cloud environment," says Bob Beck, Senior Director Business Development. "Maintaining readiness and resiliency is critical for the Army. We are proud to bring innovative technologies and a hybrid cloud infrastructure to migrate legacy systems and improve performance and availability of information for soldiers and their families."
