Fleet Cyber Command’s Civilian Employees Offered Transition to Navy’s Enterprise Cyber Service

Employees under the U.S. Fleet Cyber Command’s General Schedule unit may opt to shift their duties to the Department of the Navy’s Cyber Excepted Service through August 18th, the Navy said Wednesday. Congress authorized the Department of Defense to create the enterprise-wide CES personnel system in 2016 to improve the management of civilian cyber personnel.

Lt. Gen. Stephen Fogarty, head of Army Cyber Command, said ARCYBER prioritizes building and maintaining critical networks and information warfare capabilities to counter agile enemies, DVIDS reported Wednesday. The Department of Defense Information Network is “the most important, the most complex, weapons system DoD employees are operating 24/7,” Fogarty said during his keynote address at the Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association’s 2019 Army Signal Conference in Springfield, Va on Wednesday.

Fleet Cyber Command, Information Warfare Training Group Synchronize Navy Cyber Inspections

An office within the U.S. Fleet Cyber Command and the U.S. Navy's Information Warfare Training Group have partnered to align and synchronize the service branch's cyber assessments and monitoring. The FCC said Tuesday its Office of Compliance and Assessment and IWTG entered into the partnership under the Command Cyber Operational Readiness Inspections program.
