Gen. Paul Nakasone, head of U.S. Cyber Command, director of the National Security Agency and 2021 Wash100 Award recipient, said Cybercom’s partnership with NSA plays a key role in protecting U.S. elections from foreign interference. Gen. Nakasone said Cybercom carried out more than 2,000 operations to protect the 2020 elections against foreign interference. 

Gen. Paul Nakasone, commander of U.S. Cyber Command (CYBERCOM) and a 2021 Wash100 Award recipient, said CYBERCOM continues to play a “key role” in the U.S. government’s ongoing response to the SolarWinds hack. He also mentioned in his speech the cyber threats posed by Russia, China, Iran and North Korea and the importance of partnerships with the U.S. private sector and foreign allies.

Sgt. Maj. Sheryl Lyon, formerly with Army Cyber Command, has taken up her new role as command senior enlisted leader of U.S. Cyber Command and the National Security Agency (NSA). She will oversee military advocacy efforts and help officials address military workforce issues in her new role,  succeeding Master Gunnery Sgt. Scott Stalker, who is now U.S. Space Command's senior enlisted leader, NSA said Friday.

The U.S. Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) has opened its new headquarters location at Fort Gordon in Georgia as part of the Army’s plans to consolidate the component's cyberspace, education, training and capability development operations.
