Senate Confirms Lt. Gen. Jason Evans for New Army Installation Leadership Role

Lt. Gen. Jason Evans has received the Senate's confirmation to serve as deputy chief of staff, G-9, at the Department of the Army. His newly established role succeeds the former position of assistant chief of staff for installation management, an old function that the Army changed to correspond with a three-star rank, the service branch said Friday.

Senate Confirms Ryan McCarthy, John Hyten for Army, Joint Staff Leadership Posts

Senate has approved Ryan McCarthy and Gen. John Hyten as Army secretary and vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, respectively. McCarthy served as Army undersecretary as well as the service’s acting secretary following the nomination of 2019 Wash100 Award winner Mark Esper as defense secretary this summer, Defense News reported Thursday.
