Utah State University Makes Satellite for NASA Aerosol Study

A space-focused laboratory within Utah State University has developed a small satellite that would help NASA study cloud water and ice particles on microphysical levels. USU Space Dynamics Laboratory's cubesat would carry the HyperAngular Rainbow Polarimeter, an instrument that would introduce the ability to measure aerosol and cloud properties, USU said Thursday.

Air Force Declares SBIRS GEO-4 Satellite Operational

The fourth missile warning satellite that Lockheed Martin built for the U.S. Air Force has reached operational acceptance designation from Space Command. The service said Thursday that the Space Based Infrared System Geosynchronous Earth Orbit 4 satellite transmits data to the 460th space wing-run mission control station at Buckley Air Force Base in Colorado.
