The U.S. Air Force has introduced a new mission statement - “To fly, fight, and win…airpower anytime, anywhere” - to highlight the capabilities and competitive advantage that airpower brings to the country and joint operations as they counter near-peer adversaries. Gen. Charles Brown, chief of staff of the Air Force, said the service consulted enlisted airmen, officers, guardsmen, civilians and reservists to come up with the mission statement.

Gen. Mark Kelly on Next Generation Air Dominance Program

Gen. Mark Kelly, head of Air Combat Command (ACC), said he is confident about the capability of the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) aircraft program but he is unsure whether the country has the focus to deploy NGAD in time to counter potential adversaries. Kelly described the NGAD program a “keen capability” and stressed the need of the country and joint force for leading-edge technology to ensure air superiority.

Air Force Gen. Kenneth Wilsbach Calls for Rapid Procurement of E-7 Wedgetail Aircraft

Gen. Kenneth Wilsbach, commander of Pacific Air Forces, said the U.S. Air Force should push for the rapid procurement of the Boeing-built E-7 Wedgetail airborne early warning and control aircraft to replace the service’s aging E-3 Sentry airborne warning and control system fleet and meet the demand for such capabilities in the Indo-Pacific region.
