Peter Prowitt, the executive director of global government relations at General Electric's (NYSE: GE) aviation arm, has been appointed to serve as the Aerospace Industries Association's chief operating officer, Inside Defense reported Wednesday. He will begin his tenure as AIA CIO in July and succeed Bob Durbin, a former U.S. Army officer, who will soon retire from the association.

Nabeela Barbari, formerly an executive with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), now leads integrated risk management, national security policy and critical infrastructure security in her new role with the National Security Council (NSC). Previously, Barbari held multiple roles with DHS' National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD), CISA's predecessor agency.

FBI Agent Bryan Vorndran to Lead Agency’s Cyber Division

Bryan Vorndran, a special agent at the FBI, has been appointed to serve as assistant director of the agency's cyber division. Vorndran, who most recently served with the FBI's New Orleans Field Office, will move to the bureau's headquarters in Washington, D.C. for his new assignment. Vorndran served as an operations manager for Merck and Co. before starting a career at the FBI.

Sultan Meghji, who helped multiple African banks pursue digital transformation, has been named chief innovation officer of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp (FDIC). He will oversee FDIC’s pursuit to integrate new technologies into the U.S. financial services sector, the federal insurance agency said Tuesday. Meghji supported digital transformation at banks in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

Steven Behmer and Jason Lindsey will receive the assignment to become the U.S. Air Force's director of F-35 integration and program executive officer for presidential and executive airlift, respectively. Behmer, who currently leads Air Combat Command's 388th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base, will transfer to USAF's headquarters in Washington, D.C., for his new role.

Tarak Shah, an experienced energy policy expert, and David Huizenga, associate principal deputy administrator for the Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), have been appointed to serve as DOE's chief of staff and acting secretary, respectively. Both Shah and Huizenga will lead DOE under the Biden-Harris Administration in support of newly inaugurated President Biden, the department said Thursday.
