Navy Honors WWII Battleships With New Submarine Naming

The U.S. Navy has plans to name the next two Virginia-class submarines after states Oklahoma and Arizona, names once carried by World War II U.S. battleships. The service branch said Monday its naming decision for SSN-802 and SSN-803, respectively, honors the servicemen who had served and sacrificed their lives in the BB-37 and BB-39 vessels.

Report: States Need More Federal Funds to Back Election Security Initiatives

A new report released by the New York University School of Law’s Brennan Center for Justice says states will need additional federal funding to protect state and local election systems from cyber threats posed by nation-state actors ahead of the 2020 election. According to the document, Congress allocated $380M in grant funds through the Help America Vote Act in 2018 to help states improve their election security.

Trump Discusses Defense Matters at Luke AFB
