NRO, USSPACECOM Demonstrate Joint Space Defense

The National Reconnaissance Office and U.S. Space Command participated in an exercise to demonstrate space defense collaboration. Maj. Gen. Michael Guetlein Assumes Command of NRO as Deputy Director

U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Michael Guetlein has started his tenure as the National Reconnaissance Office's deputy director. NRO said Tuesday that it held an Assumption of Command ceremony on Monday to welcome Guetlein to the agency. Lt. Gen. David Thompson, vice commander of USAF Space Command, presided over the ceremony.

NASA Executive Christopher Scolese Nominated for NRO Leadership Post

President Donald Trump intends to nominate Christopher Scolese, director of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, for the same position at the National Reconnaissance Office. Scolese has received a number of NASA awards, having held a number of leadership roles including associate administrator and chief engineer at the space agency, the White House said Thursday.
