CIA Integrating Ethics, Analytics Into AI Initiatives

Benjamin Huebner, privacy and civil liberties officer for the CIA, told attendees at a Brookings Institution event in Washington, D.C. that the agency is working on over 100 artificial intelligence initiatives, Nextgov reported Friday. Huebner said the CIA seeks to incorporate new data analytics and machine learning methods in AI development while also covering ethical issues like biases and privacy measures.

Dawn Meyerriecks: CIA Eyes Industry Partnership to Advance Tech Adoption

Dawn Meyerriecks, deputy director of science and technology at the CIA, said the agency aims to be an “early adopter” and partner to industry when it comes to new commercial technology platforms, FCW reported Thursday. She pointed to budget constraints and China’s increased focus on tech research and development as some of the factors that have altered the way the CIA explores new tech capabilities.

Americans Remain Satisfied With Postal Service

The U.S. Postal Service took the top spot in a new poll by analytics and advisory firm Gallup that ranked the federal agencies based on the satisfaction of Americans. USPS received the highest rating, with 74 percent of respondents saying the agency is doing an "excellent" or "good" job, Gallup said Monday. The agency also ranked first place in 2014, 2017 and 2018.
