AWS, Oxford University Explore Human-Machine Collaboration With AI, Cloud Tech

Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the University of Oxford in England have partnered to test proofs of concept for human-machine interaction in education and other research areas using artificial intelligence tools and cloud computing platforms. Coast Guard Eyes Cloud-Based Platform to Manage Investigative Data

The U.S. Coast Guard's law enforcement organization is looking to procure a software-as-a-service platform for storage, analysis and sharing of data collected through independent investigations. Coast Guard added the platform should meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements. The service anticipates a one-year base period of performance, followed by three one-year option periods, for the procurement effort.

GAO Reports Progress, Challenges in Govt Cloud Migration Efforts

The Government Accountability Office recommends that federal agencies continue to adopt the cloud to reduce the cost of modernizing information technology platforms and services. GAO said Monday that 16 agencies have seen progress implementing cloud computing services and have continued to increase spending since 2015. Officials cited that cloud enhanced customer service, the availability of weather-related information and collaboration and information sharing among federal, state and local agencies.
