Three bipartisan senators have reintroduced a bill to retain and develop the skills of federal cybersecurity professionals. Sens. Gary Peters, D-Mich., John Hoeven, R-N.D. and Jacky Rosen, D-Nev., reintroduced the Federal Rotational Cyber Workforce Program Act to improve the recruitment and retention of cyber employees across the federal government, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee said Tuesday.

GAO: Government Needs Urgent Actions to Secure Federal Systems, Protect Critical Infrastructure

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has called on the federal government to accelerate efforts to carry out critical actions to address major cybersecurity challenges. According to the report, GAO has made approximately 3,300 recommendations to help agencies address lapses in cybersecurity since 2010. Of those recommendations, over 750 are not yet implemented as of Dec. 2020.

U.S. Space Force to Add Cyber Professionals to Defend Assets; Gen. John Raymond Quoted

The U.S. Space Force will begin onboarding cyber professionals from the U.S. Air Force into its ranks to protect sensitive systems and missions. The added personnel will work to defend installations, including ground terminals and space assets, such as satellites. DoD, NSA Launch Cyber Workforce Dev’t, Diversity Program


The Department of Defense (DoD) has partnered with the National Security Agency (NSA) to launch a workforce training program aimed at promoting cybersecurity skills development to help close the nation’s cyber talent gap. CEDI participants will have access to DoD and NSA-sponsored cybersecurity programs, certified instructors, educational resources and internships with partner businesses.
