The U.S. Navy plans to further implement artificial intelligence boosting readiness and establish new offices to guide the effort, AFCEA reported Friday. Adm. Brig. Gen. Steven Blaymaier: Air Force to Implement Conditions-Based Maintenance for C-130J, KC-135 Aircraft

Brig. Gen. Steven Blaymaier, director of Air Mobility Command’s logistics, engineering and force protection, has said the C-130J military transport aircraft and the KC-135 refueling tanker are scheduled to enter the U.S. Air Force’s conditions-based maintenance program in 2019, Defense News reported Saturday. CBM aims to increase mission-capable rates by predicting problems in aircraft components through the use of data analytics.

The Defense Department has released a new strategy that lays out its action plans to counter cybersecurity threats posed by Russia, China and other strategic competitors. A summary of DoD’s cyber strategy issued Tuesday states DoD’s cyber space goals such as the need to build up the joint force’s capability to carry out cyber operations that enhance the country’s military advantage; defend U.S. critical infrastructure from malicious threats; and secure the Pentagon’s information systems from cyber vulnerabilities.
