Christopher Wray: ‘Almost Half’ of FBI’s 5K Counterintelligence Investigations Linked to China

FBI Director Christopher Wray said China is using cyber-intrusion techniques and bribing “trusted insiders” to steal U.S. intellectual property during the COVID-19 pandemic. Wray said almost 50 percent of the FBI’s nearly 5,000 counterintelligence investigations are linked to China and that the bureau opens a China-related investigation every 10 hours.

President Donald Trump on Friday signed an executive order declaring a national emergency to address cyber threats and other risks posed by foreign adversaries to the U.S. bulk-power system. The order will prohibit the acquisition and installation of bulk-power system electric equipment designed, developed or supplied by foreign adversaries.
