Three DoD Officials to Lead Implementation of Software Acquisition Study’s Recommendations

Three Department of Defense leaders have been selected to implement the approved recommendations within the four lines of effort of the Defense Innovation Board’s Software Acquisition and Practices study, FedScoop reported Monday. The four lines of effort are refactoring regulations, statutes and processes for software, creating cross-program and cross-service digital infrastructure, establishing new paths for digital talent and changing software procurement and development practices.

Defense Innovation Board Issues White Paper on Zero Trust Architecture

The Defense Innovation Board approved at its quarterly meeting in Silicon Valley a white paper calling for the Pentagon to implement zero trust architecture to counter cybersecurity threats, Fedscoop reported Wednesday. The document titled “The Road to Zero Trust (Security)” notes that ZTA can help the Department of Defense track and block threat actors and manage rules of access for devices and users across the department to facilitate secure data sharing.
