Sehlke Awarded USMC Task Order for General Ledger Transition

Sehlke Consulting LLC announced on Thursday that the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) has awarded the company its second prime task order for Standard Accounting, Budgeting, and Reporting System (SABRS)-to-Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) transition. The contract award will require Sehlke to directly support the USMC through the deputy commandant for programs and resources and the deputy assistant secretary of the Navy, financial management and systems.

Defense Procurement Vet James Geurts to Serve as Navy’s Undersecretary on Acting Basis

James Geurts

James Geurts, who most recently served as the assistant secretary of the Navy for research, development and acquisition and was a 2020 Wash100 Award recipient, was designated the service's acting undersecretary. Geurts will also concurrently perform duties as chief operations and management officer of the Department of the Navy (DON), the service said the same day.

Department of the Navy Announces Formation of DevSecOps Task Force

The Department of the Navy is establishing a DevSecOps task force to help speed up software development and delivery and improve data security, FCW reported Friday. The Jan. 15 memo states that the task force will provide the information superiority executive steering group with a set of recommendations within two months to facilitate the creation of a strategy for enterprisewide DevSecOps implementation.
