Study Predicts Gov’t Counterrorism Expenses to Add by Trillion

Neta Crawford, a professor from Boston University, said the federal government may add $1T to counterterrorism investments over the next decades, National Defense Magazine reported Tuesday. Her recent report, titled “United States Budgetary Costs and Obligations of Post-9/11 Wars through FY 2020: $6.4 Trillion" projects government spending to continue a pattern of increasing counterterrorism over time.

DHS S&T Seeks Proposals for MBA Program Dev’t Initiative

The Department of Homeland Security released a request for proposals to establish an Executive Master of Business Administration learning track through the Center of Excellence program. Bipartisan Group Introduces Bill to Address Digital Forgery; Rep. Will Hurd Quoted

Reps. Stephanie Murphy, D-Fla., Derek Kilmer, D-Wash., Peter King, R-N.Y., and Will Hurd, R-Texas, have introduced a bill that aims to address digital content forgery or “deepfake” cases. The Deepfakes Report Act of 2019 would task the secretary of homeland security to annually publish a report on technologies, gneneral applications and countermeasures regarding digital forgery, Murphy's office said Tuesday.

President Trump is nominating Joseph Cuffari, military and veterans affairs policy advisor to the governor of Arizona, to become inspector general for the Department of Homeland Security. The former airman held a number of active duty and leadership roles with the U.S. Air Force, a tenure totaling over 40 years, the White House said Thursday.
