Three bipartisan senators have reintroduced a bill to retain and develop the skills of federal cybersecurity professionals. Sens. Gary Peters, D-Mich., John Hoeven, R-N.D. and Jacky Rosen, D-Nev., reintroduced the Federal Rotational Cyber Workforce Program Act to improve the recruitment and retention of cyber employees across the federal government, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee said Tuesday.

Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., and Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, are reintroducing legislation to support the National Guard in helping secure the information technology systems of state and local governments against emerging cyberattacks. Gary Peters, D-Mich., and Rob Portman, R-Ohio, have introduced legislation to add provisions to the Federal Information Security Management Act that would help ensure transparency in agencies’ sharing of information on data breaches. The bill comes in response to the Government Accountability Office's (GAO) report stating that agencies must urgently address threats to federal systems.
