IG Report: GSA Must Improve Oversight of Insider Threat Program

The General Services Administration’s (GSA) Office of Inspector General (OIG) is recommending the agency to improve information sharing and internal communications regarding its Insider Threat Program (ITP). The GSA OIG said in the report released Wednesday that the agency must work on its organizational collaboration efforts to proactively detect, mitigate and prevent insider threats.

The Department of the Treasury's Office of the Inspector General  has identified COVID-19 as a new challenge affecting the organization's interests as the calendar shifts to 2021. A report stated that COVID-19 has challenged the Treasury in terms of remote working and added responsibilities, said Richard Delmar, deputy inspector general at OIG.

DHS OIG: CISA Needs to Further Election Security Efforts


The Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) issued a report stating that the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) must take additional steps to secure the U.S. election infrastructure. The OIG report dated Oct. 22 states that DHS has improved coordination and CISA was able to create guidelines for securing systems required throughout the 2020 election cycle.

Report: DHS Lacks ‘Comprehensive’ Mgmt Procedures for Low-Value Contracts

The Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General found that the agency lacked proper oversight of its low-value contracts, resulting in missing documentation and lost payments, Federal Times reported Wednesday. Low-value contracts are those with a maximum amount of $300 million.
