The Department of Defense and the General Services Administration said they expect to issue the request for quotes for a potential $8B cloud contract in February with plans to award it by April, Federal News Network reported Tuesday. GSA to Combine Four Cybersecurity Special Item Numbers on IT Schedule 70

The General Services Administration has proposed to consolidate into a single vehicle four special item numbers for cybersecurity services on its IT Schedule 70 in an effort to reflect the addition of high value asset assessments area. GSA said Wednesday the proposed single Highly Adaptive Cybersecurity Services SIN 132-45 will have five subcategories for cyber services.

Dana Deasy Talks Cloud, Artificial Intelligence at DISA’s Forecast to Industry Conference

OMB Guidance Sets New Continuous Diagnostics & Mitigation Requirements for Agencies

The Office of Management and Budget has issued an updated guidance that outlines new Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation program requirements for agencies to comply with the Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014, FedScoop reported Friday. The memo now directs agencies to submit justification should they choose to buy continuous monitoring tools and capabilities outside of the General Services Administration’s IT Schedule 70 CDM tools special item number, CDM Dynamic and Evolving Federal Enterprise Network Defense and other contract vehicles.

The General Services Administration has announced plans to implement changes to a special item number for cloud platforms and services on the Information Technology Schedule 70. A FedBizOpps notice posted Monday says the proposed changes to SIN 132-40 include the addition of IT professional services to help agencies facilitate cloud adoption and migration efforts.
