House Lawmakers Want Biden to Name Nominees to Merit Systems Protection Board

Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va., chairman of the House Oversight and Reform’s government operations subcommittee, and Rep. Jody Hice, R-Ga., ranking member of the House subpanel, have called on President Biden to nominate members to the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). Hice and Connolly said MSPB has lacked a quorum since Jan. 2017 and has been without a single member on the board since March 2019.

House OKs Bill to Codify FedRAMP, Create Federal Cloud Advisory Panel

The House has passed a bipartisan bill by voice vote that seeks to codify the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) and establish an advisory panel that would coordinate procurement and cybersecurity efforts under the governmentwide cloud computing initiative. GSA found that the number of agencies reusing certified platforms under the program rose 50 percent during fiscal 2020.

Bipartisan Legislation to Enhance Federal Govt Accountability

Sens. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., and Reps. Jody Hice, R-Ga., and Ted Lieu, D-Calif. have introduced a bill to enhance accountability and transparency within the federal government. The Oversight.gov Authorization Act aims to launch and maintain a website that will provide the public with access to reports generated by inspector generals.
