USAF Formally Names T-X Aircraft With Red-Tailed Color Scheme

The U.S. Air Force has named its new Boeing-made T-X aircraft, with a public announcement at the Air Force Association’s Air, Space and Cyber Conference. Matthew Donovan, acting USAF secretary, announced the aircraft's naming as the T-7A Red Hawk in National Harbor, Md., on Monday, the service branch said the same day.

Matthew Donovan: USAF to Reactivate 420th Flight Test Squadron for B-21 Program

The U.S. Air Force intends to reactivate the squadron that performed the pre-operational tests of the B-2 Spirit aircraft to support the flight test phase for the military service's future B-21 Raider bomber plane. B-21 prime contractor Northrop Grumman is building the test aircraft at a production facility in Palmdale, Calif., the Air Force said Monday.

Air Force Sec. Matthew Donovan Visits Partner Facilities

Matthew Donovan, acting secretary at the U.S. Air Force, toured three facilities in Florida to showcase the service branch's communications, air and space investments. Matthew Donovan Named Acting Air Force Secretary

Matthew Donovan, undersecretary of the U.S. Air Force, will serve as the service’s interim secretary, effective June 1, the Department of Defense said in a news release published Wednesday. He will assume the responsibilities of Air Force Secretary and 2019 Wash100 winner Heather Wilson, who will step down from her post to join the University of Texas at El Paso as president.
