A report from the Department of Defense’s (DoD) office of the Director Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E) recommends that the undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness provide the Defense Health Agency (DHA) with sufficient resources to support continued training, content development and other assistance during the deployment and sustainment of the MHS Genesis electronic health records system.

Defense Health Agency Makes New Office for Electronic Health Record Adoption

The Defense Health Agency has created a new office to support the enterprise-wide implementation of a new electronic health record. MHS Rolls Out New Electronic Health Record at Four Sites

The Military Health System deployed its new electronic health care record at four medical sites belonging to the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army. The system said Saturday it activated its MHS GENESIS record at David Grant USAF Medical Center, Naval Health Clinic Lemoore, U.S. Army Health Clinic Presidio of Monterey and Mountain Home Air Force Base's 366th Medical Group.

DoD to Deploy EHR System to Four More Bases in September

The Department of Defense will roll out in September its new electronic health records system to four additional bases in California and Idaho, the Military website reported Wednesday. DoD will field the Cerner-built MHS Genesis EHR system at three California-based sites - Travis Air Force Base, Army Health Clinic Presidio and Naval Air Station Lemoore – and at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho, effective Sept. 7.
