Defense Innovation Unit Transitioned 11 Commercial Prototypes in 2020

The Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) said in its annual report that it launched 23 new projects in 2020, which reflects a year-over-year increase of 35 percent, and transitioned 11 prototypes to Department of Defense partners for large-scale procurement. DIU received 944 commercial proposals and awarded 56 prototype other transaction agreements to companies in 2020, bringing the total number of prototype OTAs issued to 208.

DoD Seeks Industry Feedback on 5G Tech Dev’t Projects

The Department of Defense is asking industry for ideas to develop 5G technology platforms for demonstration  at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany in Georgia and Hill Air Force Base in Utah. DoD said Monday it will collect input through Dec. 16 to help the department finalize prototype solicitations related to the experimentation and testing of the next-generation wireless technology.

NSWC Dahlgren-Issued OTA Presented at Recent Industry Event

Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division issued an other transaction agreement with the Naval Surface Technology and Innovation Consortium in June to fortify government-industry collaboration. NSTIC presented the Naval Surface Technology and Innovation OTA at an industry event in Fredericksburg, Va., gathering together members of industry, government and academia, Naval Sea Systems Command said Wednesday.
