The U.S. Army and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) have concluded testing of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) and Patriot weapon systems as part of an interoperability exercise that began early this year. The FTP-27 assessment took place at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico and saw the THAAD Army-Navy/Transportable Radar Surveillance target data to the Patriot system.

Lockheed Martin Wins $187.5M Contract to Build Small Satellite Mesh Network; Kay Sears Quoted

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a  $187.5 million Tranche 0 contract of the Space Transport Layer from the Space Development Agency (SDA). Under the contract, Lockheed Martin will develop a mesh network of 10 small satellites that links terrestrial warfighting domains to space sensors by 2022.

Army Tests Hit-to-Kill Function of Lockheed PAC-3 Interceptors

A pair of Lockheed Martin-built interceptors engaged ballistic missile targets during a flight test hosted by the U.S. Army at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. PAC-3 Cost Reduction Initiative interceptors used hit-to-kill technology to destroy the tactical missiles and met realibility requirements in support of the service branch's Field Surveillance Program, the company said Thursday.
