NASA Kennedy Space Center Receives SLS Core Stage Training Mockup

NASA's Kennedy Space Center has accepted delivery of hardware that would help personnel prepare for the Space Launch System's first Moon mission with the Orion spacecraft. The space agency said Saturday it will use the core stage pathfinder to train lift crews in handling hardware of the SLS rocket. Pathfinders are full-scale mock-up models that have the shape and size of their corresponding SLS components.

USAF OKs Continued KC-46 Aircraft Deliveries

The U.S. Air Force resumed acceptance of Boeing-made KC-46 Pegasus tanker aircraft after a nearly month-long delivery halt caused by debris found in one of the units, Reuters reported Tuesday. Rose Riley, a representative of the Air Force Air Mobility Command, said in a statement that the service branch will continue to accept deliveries as Boeing inspects each aircraft as part of a corrective action plan.

McConnell AFB Receives First KC-46A Refueling Aircraft

The first two Boeing KC-46A Pegasus aircraft have been delivered to McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas five years after the installation was selected as the first Main Operating Base, McConnell AFB said Friday. The base commenced construction of facilities such as an air traffic control tower, a fuselage trainer, technical training dormitories and aircraft maintenance hangars in preparation for the delivery.
