Senate Homeland Security Committee OKs Two Bipartisan Bills on Cybersecurity

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday approved two bipartisan bills that aim to strengthen the U.S. cybersecurity posture. The committee passed the proposed DHS Cyber Incident Response Teams Act of 2018, which directs the Department of Homeland Security to institute a task force to act as a cyber incident response team that would protect the virtual systems of public and private sector entities and critical infrastructure, the office of Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., said Wednesday.
