National Counterintelligence & Security Center Warns US Firms of Foreign Intell Threats With Informative Materials

A center within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence has begun to distribute brochures, videos, flyers and other informative materials to increase awareness about foreign intelligence threats and help U.S. companies protect themselves from nation-state actors. “American companies are squarely in the cross-hairs of well-financed nation-state actors, who are routinely breaching private sector networks, stealing proprietary data, and compromising supply chains," William Evanina, director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center, said in a statement published Monday.

James Mattis Creates New Task Force to Secure DoD’s Critical Tech, Data

Defense Secretary James Mattis has formed a new task force that aims to protect the Pentagon’s critical technology, classified data and controlled unclassified information from expropriation and theft. Mattis directs Deputy Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan to name a director and deputy chief to oversee the Protecting Critical Technology Task Force, according to an Oct. 24 memo obtained by Inside Cybersecurity.
