DoD, Manufacturing Institute Sign Follow-On Partnership Agreement

The Department of Defense and a UI Labs-led consortium are entering into a possible $60M follow-on agreement to develop and integrate digital tools into manufacturing processes. Army Holds Electronic Warfare Exercise for 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team

The U.S. Army held a training exercise at Fort Bliss testing new electronic warfare systems and methodologies. The 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team's 2nd Infantry and 1st Armored divisions tried out the VROD Modular Adaptive Transmit, Sabre Fury and Raven Claw platforms to learn parts integration and discover the systems' capabilities, the military service said Wednesday.

Bruce Jette, assistant secretary of the U.S. Army for acquisition, technology and logistics, has said the new intellectual property management policy seeks to strike a balance between efforts to promote industry innovation and long-term sustainment considerations. The policy “discourages a one-size-fits-all attitude and requires that we consider the unique needs of each weapon system and its components as we develop the IP strategy,” Jette wrote in an article published Thursday.

Lt. Gen. Bruce Crawford on How Army CIO Office Supports AI Task Force Across Six Areas

Lt. Gen. Bruce Crawford, chief information officer of the U.S. Army, has said the service formed in September a new task force that aims to integrate artificial intelligence into the battlefield and business operations, Federal News Network reported Friday.
