NASA to Launch Satellites for Signal Distortion Study

NASA plans to launch two small satellites for a mission to study the distortions of radio signal transmissions through the ionosphere, a region where particles ionize into plasma this month. The Enhanced Tandem Beacon Experiment or E-TBEx CubeSats will launch on a SpaceX-made Falcon Heavy rocket as part of the Department of Defense's Space Test Program-2, the space agency said Monday.

USAF-MIT R&D Partnership to Tackle AI Tech

The U.S. Air Force has contracted the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to perform research and development on artificial intelligence technologies. The institute will work with 11 selected airmen to study, develop and field AI technologies to address national security and real-world issues, USAF said Monday. The service branch will allot $15 million annually for the partnership.

USAF, University of Dayton Research Institute to Test C-130 Aircraft Sustainment Tech

Air Force Life Cycle Management Center and University of Dayton Research Institute will perform various technology demonstrations with a decommissioned C-130 aircraft. Eglin Air Force Base completed the transport aircraft's delivery to UDRI’s headquarters on Wednesday, Wright-Patterson AFB said the same day. UDRI and teams from AFLCMC will use the aircraft to test technologies designed to reduce C-130 sustainment costs.
