The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has issued a report saying it helped the federal government saved $77.6 billion in spending in fiscal year 2020. The figure represents a return of $114 for every dollar Congress invested in GAO. GAO said it has helped agencies make 1,132 improvements in government operations.
