Report: Biden’s $2T Infrastructure Plan to Include Funding for Electric Vehicles, Broadband

White House officials on Tuesday briefed lawmakers on a potential $2 trillion infrastructure plan that would fund electric vehicles, public transit, highways, electrical grid and water systems upgrades, broadband internet expansion and semiconductor research efforts. President Biden Nominates Maryanne Donaghy, Seema Nanda for Key VA, DOL Roles

President Biden has nominated former Department of Justice (DOJ) officials Maryanne Donaghy and Seema Nanda to assume leadership roles at the departments of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Labor (DOL), respectively. Donaghy received a nomination for assistant secretary for accountability and whistleblower protection at the VA while Nanda was nominated to serve as DOL solicitor.

GAO: Government Needs Urgent Actions to Secure Federal Systems, Protect Critical Infrastructure

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has called on the federal government to accelerate efforts to carry out critical actions to address major cybersecurity challenges. According to the report, GAO has made approximately 3,300 recommendations to help agencies address lapses in cybersecurity since 2010. Of those recommendations, over 750 are not yet implemented as of Dec. 2020.

House Lawmakers Call on White House to Cut DOD Budget
